Painting Inca army for DBA. (IV/81)

For DBA you need to paint 12 stands. Mike decided to buy two sets of 12 bags. These figures came from Essex and were heavily discounted.

INCA from Essex link

Only $30 for 12 bags. So a pretty good deal. There are 8 models in each so a total of 96 models. I did not really think this through so I painted all 96 figures before deciding what I needed to for the DBA army.

The INCA army can be found in book IV. It is list 81.

The IV/81 Inca Imperial Army includes:

One General (Lit or 3 BD or 4 Ax). I decided to go with the 3 blades. (3 figures from INC 16 and INC 5)

One halberdires or coastal nobles (3Bd/4Ax) Again I decided to go for a 3 blades. These include fighting infantry primarily skilled in fencing individually with swords or heavier cutting or cut and thrust weapons.(3 figures from INC 1)

One forest archers (3Bw or Ps) or Collas bolas-men (Ps). I chose the Psiloi. These include dispersed skirmishers on foot with javelin, sling, staff, bow, etc (2 figures from INC 8)

Four regulars (4 Ax) These are Auxilia. They represent javelin armed foot able to fight hand to hand. (16 figures from INC 3 and INC 4)

Three skirmishing slingers (Ps). (6 figures from INC 10)

Two subject Quechua or Aymara (3Ax) or hasty levies (5Hd) or after 1470 Canari (3Pk). I chose the Ax. (6 figures from INC 7 and INC 9)

This is the twelve stands that comprise the DBA Army.
