Painting Lord of the Rings. (Evil figures from Escape from Goblin Town)

Our next game from lord of the rings will involve my goblins so I decided to finish painting the Goblin army which includes the Goblin King, Grinnah, the goblin scribe, the goblin captain, and 36 goblin warriors.

The following two images are of the Goblin King.

The next one is the Goblin Scribe

The next few are images of the 36 goblin warriors

The next one is Grinnah and the Goblin captain. Funny that the goblin captain is the smallest of all the goblins.

The last is a picture of the Goblin Army

Painting Inca Army for DBMM. (81)

I decided to base the remaining Inca figure in the start of a DBMM army. DBMM is point base but the are specific troops in each army. For the Inca army (81) I need 1 Commander in Chief, 1 to 3 sub commanders, 4 to 6 Inca nobles, 16 to 60 Inca huaminca regulars, 24 to 48 skirmishing slingers.

I managed to build:

Two sub commanders (Reg Ax(S)). Just noticed that these should have four figures per base.

Six Inca noble bodyguard (Reg Ax (S))

Seven Inca Huaminca regulars (Reg Ax (O))

Seventeen Skirmishing slingers (Irr Ps (O))

I had a pack of dogs so I decided to make 2 stands of Porters (Reg Bge (I))

So in summary to make a DBMM army I would need 9 additional Inca Huaminca regulars and 7 additional Skirmishing slingers for a total of 41 figures.

Painting Inca army for DBA. (IV/81)

For DBA you need to paint 12 stands. Mike decided to buy two sets of 12 bags. These figures came from Essex and were heavily discounted.

INCA from Essex link

Only $30 for 12 bags. So a pretty good deal. There are 8 models in each so a total of 96 models. I did not really think this through so I painted all 96 figures before deciding what I needed to for the DBA army.

The INCA army can be found in book IV. It is list 81.

The IV/81 Inca Imperial Army includes:

One General (Lit or 3 BD or 4 Ax). I decided to go with the 3 blades. (3 figures from INC 16 and INC 5)

One halberdires or coastal nobles (3Bd/4Ax) Again I decided to go for a 3 blades. These include fighting infantry primarily skilled in fencing individually with swords or heavier cutting or cut and thrust weapons.(3 figures from INC 1)

One forest archers (3Bw or Ps) or Collas bolas-men (Ps). I chose the Psiloi. These include dispersed skirmishers on foot with javelin, sling, staff, bow, etc (2 figures from INC 8)

Four regulars (4 Ax) These are Auxilia. They represent javelin armed foot able to fight hand to hand. (16 figures from INC 3 and INC 4)

Three skirmishing slingers (Ps). (6 figures from INC 10)

Two subject Quechua or Aymara (3Ax) or hasty levies (5Hd) or after 1470 Canari (3Pk). I chose the Ax. (6 figures from INC 7 and INC 9)

This is the twelve stands that comprise the DBA Army.

Painting Lord of the Rings. (Heros from Escape from Goblin Town)

I started the Lord of Rings painting job, since Mike was making good progress on his orcs, etc.

Mike decided that it would be nice if I painted some Dwarves from the Hobbit movie. The is a set called Escape from Goblin Town that includes the 13 Dwarves, Gandalf, and Bilbo and a huge amount of Goblins. I started with the hobbits. I decided to take my time and really apply myself. Hopefully these turned out nice. These are only 25 mm so my close ups show a lot of detail, but unless you have really good eye sight you would not see this.

I started with black primer, then painted the colours, the used citadel shade, then a lot of highlighting on each colour.

Painting Ironclad Dreadnought for Warhammer 40k

I decided to add a little to my Space Marine force. I needed something to counter those very big Demons.

I was a little surprised that there was not a decal for the flag, so I had to paint it freehand. Looking forward to the next warhammer game.

Painting Barbarians for Frostgrave

I was running of things to paint, so I decided to paint a spur that was given to me by Mike. Painting barbarians is not very difficult. I mostly used all the different types of Browns. I then washed with Citadel brown, green and skin.

Painting Flames of War mid-war Humber

So the other week I went to Frere de Bataille.

FDB

The have a complete selection of Flames of War. I bought a Humber Armoured Car Troop box. It comes with 3 Humber cars. I had an old British desert spray paint can, so after the black primer, I did a base with this and highlighted with Dark Sand (847). Next was a little camo with Brown Violet 887) and painted the tires Black (950). The last step was a light highlighting with Iraqui Sand (819).  These are all Vallejo paints.
