Painting a Napoleonic Naval Starter Pack from Langton Miniatures

I noticed a Ship on Mike's TV cabinet and thought it would be nice to paint some. He has the British starter pack, so I decided to buy the Spanish starter pack. Francis is in England so he was nice enough to buy some for me and my sister brought it over when she came for a visit.

The starter set comes with four 1:1200 scale ships. If you have never built something at this scale I can tell you it is very hard. One ship basically comes with a hull and three masts. You must then attach the sales to the masts. Hopefully I got them right. Then you must attach strings to the ship and mast and then the rat lines. On a scale of 1 to ten for difficulty, I would say that this is very close to 10.

Painting Flames of War Rudel Ju87 G Aircraft

Francis gave me a Ju87 G Aircraft last year.

As can be seen in the following link

http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4262

Oberst Hans-Ulrich Rudel is mounted in a Ju-87G Stuka. He may join a Panzer Kampfgruppe (page 68 of Desperate Measures) or a Panzergrenadier Kampfgruppe (page 72 of Desperate Measures) for +175 points.

Rudel flew 2530 combat missions claiming at least 2000 targets destroyed. These included 800 vehicles, 519 tanks, 150 artillery pieces, 70 landing craft, nine aircraft, four armoured trains, several key bridges, a destroyer, two cruisers, and the Soviet battleship Marat.

It was not very hard to paint. Basically used Vallejo Luftwaffe Cam green(823) and Reflective Green (890) for the cam and Flat Yellow (953).

Painting Flames of war, bolt action, and saga stuff

My wife had left for the cottage last weekend so I had time to paint a few miniatures. First job was to paint some additions for my British flames of war army for the BATTLEAXE campaign. Next I painted a wandering bard I got as prize for the last SAGA tournament. Finally I started painting the Bolt action miniatures I got as a Christmas gift about 10 months ago.

Not bad for a weekends work.

Painting a Viking Army for Saga Tournament and Campaign

So our Club Ottawa Miniature Gamers is doing a Saga Tournament on 6 November 2016 and is starting a Saga Campaign in January 2017. This gave me a reason to start painting my first Viking army.

Here is a picture of my entire force

Painting 8th Army "Desert Rats" Motor Company

I have finally painted the entire box set. Just in time for our BATTLEAXE desert campaign. I will not be able to use the Shermans, but everything else is good. Thanks again to Francis for buying the box.

Painting 8th Army "Desert Rats" Motor Company

There are four boxes in the 8th Army box set. The next box I tackled was the Lorried Motor Company. This is always a little hard because there are so many infantry to paint. In this set I had to paint 60 infantry figures and 9 vehicles.

Complete box set
